Everyday you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.

History

Danielle JenningsBlessed Haven, Inc. was formed by Danielle Jennings, a former ward of the state. After aging out of the system in 2000 and observing the issues that other foster friends encountered, she was concerned that the lack of support was not just something they were encountering, but had to be a major problem when reflected on in a larger scale. In 2007 after speaking with other concerned youth and influential adults, the concept for Blessed Haven Inc. was born. Shortly, over 2 years later, a Board of Directors was formed and Blessed Haven was officially incorporated.

Blessed Haven, Inc. is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide long term support for youth transitioning out of foster care into a successful adulthood. Currently, youth are able to remain in foster care as wards of the state until their 21st birthday. Some youth choose to exit care at the age of 18 and are eligible for limited after care services. At the age of 21 all youth cases are closed and no further assistance from the state is available to be provided. There is no program to ensure these struggling youth are equipped and able to survive and thrive into a responsible, successful and confident adult.

Until Now!

Our Mission

To have caring adults provide life skills training, counseling, and resources that will assist youth in becoming successful adults. We hope to prepare and expose them to a more stable, cultured and progressive life style; thus propelling them into a successful adulthood.

Our Goal

To create a stable "forever network" for youth and young adults transitioning out of foster care.
